【摘要】:Thistestmethoddifferentiatesamonggreaseshavingdistinctlydifferentlow-temperaturecharacteristics.Thistestisusedforspecificationpurposesandcorrelateswithitsprecursorwhichhasbeenusedtopredicttheperformanceofgreasesinautomotivewheelbearingsinlow-temperatureservice.4Itistheresponsibilityoftheusertodeterminethecorrelationwithothertypesofservice.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftheextenttowhichatestgreaseretardstherotationofaspecially-manufactured,spring-loaded,automotive-typewheelbearingassemblywhensubjectedtolowtemperatures.Torquevalues,calculatedfromrestraining-forcedeterminations,areameasureoftheviscousresistanceofthegrease.Thistestmethodwasdevelopedwithgreasesgivingtorquesoflessthan35Nmat40C.1.2si-value;1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
